Psychosocial disabilities are mental health issues that affect a person’s daily activities, such as socialising or interacting with others in a social setting – NDIS

Don’t let mental health be a barrier

Psychosocial disabilities can make living life as you want very difficult. But living more freely is possible with the help of our qualified and mental health experienced psychosocial recovery coaches. They can act as your mentor, guide and facilitator to reach your plan goals.

Our PCRs support you to thrive in a safe environment, building on your strengths, motivation and confidence. Some of the psychosocial disabilities our recovery coach team support include anxiety disorders, schizophrenic disorders, mood disorders, agoraphobia and alcoholism.

What do psychosocial recovery coaches do?

  • Develop recovery-enabling relationships based on hope
  • Explain human rights and support capacity building for self-advocacy
  • Support in developing life goals through recovery planning
  • Coach to build strengths, knowledge, skills, resilience, and decision-making
  • Provide information and advice
  • Help understand and effectively use NDIS/other services and resources
  • Collaborate with broader services to ensure supports are responsive to requirements and help achieve goals
  • Support engagement with the NDIS
  • Assist in connecting positively with family and friends
  • Connect with mental health, health and other services, particularly when a participant is unwell
  • Document and report on all interactions, support and outcomes
