Critics lash proposed mental health changes

A new review of mental health services in Australia has recommended the expansion of ‘Better Access,’ which currently allows people to access up to 10 sessions with an allied mental health worker. Under the proposed changes, people could access ‘preventive’ mental health sessions without the need for a diagnosis, and tiered access would grant more than 10 sessions for those with complex problems.
