Here is a photo of Shan in Venice, Italy. This trip is a huge achievement because Shan made the decision to solo travel and booked the holiday completely on her own. 📸
It took a lot of preparation and support from her NDIS team, overseen by her Support Coordinator from Hunter Care Group. Together they worked on building the skills Shan needed to travel independently, including waking up on her own, managing her medications, keeping up on walking tours, preparing key emergency and transport numbers, and organising airport transfers and extra supports while overseas. 💼✈️
All the work paid off. Shan travelled through Italy, then continued on a cruise where she explored off the ship, took part in activities, and made new friends along the way. Her confidence grew every day. 🚢😊
We are incredibly proud of Shan and everything she has achieved. Her determination and willingness to step outside her comfort zone is inspiring to everyone around her. 🌟💙
