Supported Independent Living (SIL) is one type of NDIS support to help participants live in their home.
At HCG our goal is consistency and sustainability across our SIL houses and as a result, all are 100% owned and operated by HCG

Having a place and space to call your own, which provides for your needs but also gives you the independence and ability to achieve your goals alongside others, is one of the special aspects of our SIL properties

Recently, we heard from Leanne who has recently moved to her new home.
Alongside her Support Workers and Recovery Coach, Leanne has recently made some changes to her routine which have helped her improve her sleep, as well as supporting her to engage meaningfully in her passion for arts and crafts

As a result of these changes and due to her happiness in her new SIL home, Leanne has begun displaying her art and making her own creative space where she can be herself, and explore her creative side.
Leanne has indicated that previously this was not something she felt confident doing and she is so pleased to be able to express herself and share her gifts with other participants

We are so excited to see whatβs next for Leanne as she continues to flourish in her new SIL home, and Leanneβs experience is a reminder of the importance of quality and collaborative supports, alongside the benefits offered by Psychosocial Recovery

Well done Leanne and thanks again to our amazing Support Workers and Recovery Coach teams
